Product development · Singapore

Electronic product development in Singapore, end to end.

We take technology products from idea to production: electronics, firmware, apps and cloud, then the handover to manufacturing. One engineering team across the whole stack, from the first feasibility study to the production build. Engage us for one stage or all of them.

01 / Where we fit

We help you cross the gap.

Research proves that an idea works. Contract manufacturers build products at volume. Turning one into the other is the hard part, and it is where most of our projects sit.

TRL 0 to 3

Research and development

Ideas tested on established principles: application research, technology development and feasibility. We help with feasibility studies and modelling.

Proof of principle → proof of concept Typically · universities and research institutes
Where most of our work sits TRL 4 to 6

Productisation

Design for manufacture and assembly, demonstrators for alpha testers, proven in the intended environment, then design lock.

Proof of value Typically · startups and product teams
TRL 7 to 9

Commercialisation

Pilot and batch builds with our manufacturing partner, cost down, and support once the product is in the field.

Pilot → production Typically · scaling companies
02 / How we work

Six stages, one team.

Engage us for one stage or all six. Every stage ends with a review and a clear set of deliverables, so you always know where your product stands.

  1. Feasibility

We test the idea against physics, cost and schedule before you commit a full budget.

    You get
    • Feasibility report
    • System architecture
    • Plan and budget
    Thesis
  2. Requirements

Your users’ needs become product requirements that every later design decision traces back to.

    You get
    • Requirements specification
    • Risk list
    Thesis
  3. Design

Electronics, firmware, apps and cloud designed together, and modelled before anything is built.

    You get
    • Schematics and layout
    • Source code
    • Design reviews
    Thesis
  4. Prototype

Boards built, brought up and tested against the requirements, then refined.

    You get
    • Working prototypes
    • Test reports
    Thesis + fabrication partner
  5. Industrialise

Design for manufacture and test, production data, and preparation for certification.

    You get
    • BOM and production data
    • Test procedures
    • Certification support
Thesis + EMS partner, test labs
  6. Handover

Transfer to production, then firmware updates, design revisions and component changes where agreed.

    You get
    • Handover pack
    • Ongoing support
    Thesis
Who does what

Stages marked Thesis are done by our own engineers. For fabrication, assembly and certification testing we work with trusted partners, and we stay your technical point of contact throughout. We do not run a factory, and we will always tell you who is doing what.

03 / Across the stack

Hardware, firmware and software, designed together.

When one team owns every layer, the interfaces between them stop being somebody else’s problem.

Electronics hardware

Multicore ARM Cortex, ESP32 and RISC V microcontrollers, ASICs and SoCs. Analog front ends for ECG, EEG, PPG, mmWave radar, photonics and GNSS.

HDI up to 12 layersMixed signalEMI and EMC aware layout

Embedded software

Bare metal and RTOS firmware, custom Yocto Linux and drivers, and edge environments ready for AI and ML.

RTOSYocto LinuxTinyML

Apps and HMI

Instrument GUIs and HMIs for lab automation, patient monitoring and machine control, on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux.

Touch GUIMobile appsDesktop tools

Cloud and data

Python, JavaScript, React, Node, SQL and NoSQL on AWS and GKE, with MQTT and APIs, and security designed in.

Device fleetsAPIsExplainable models

Also modelling and simulation before anything is built, and data science with explainable models that engineers and clinicians can trust.

Whole products, not just boards.

A few projects where we carried more than one layer of the product. Each row shows what our team was responsible for.

05 / What you get

Clear deliverables, no surprises.

What we hand over is agreed in writing at the start of each project. These are the usual pieces.

  1. 01
Requirements and architectureSpecifications, block diagrams and the reasoning behind each major choice.
  2. 02
Hardware design filesSchematics, PCB layout, BOM, fabrication and assembly data.
  3. 03
Firmware and softwareSource code, build instructions and release notes.
  4. 04
VerificationTest plans and reports against the agreed requirements.
  5. 05
Production packageProduction test procedures and the data your manufacturer needs.
  6. 06
SupportUpdates, design revisions and component changes, where agreed.
One technical point of contactYou talk to the engineers doing the work, not an account manager relaying messages.
Reviews at every milestoneEach stage closes with a review against the requirements before the next one starts.
Ownership agreed up frontIP and source code handover terms are written into the contract before work begins.
06 / Questions

Common questions.

Can Thesis take my product from idea to production?

Yes. Our engineers handle feasibility, requirements, electronics, firmware, apps and cloud. We coordinate fabrication, assembly and certification testing with trusted partners, and stay your technical point of contact throughout.

Do you manufacture?

We do not run a factory. We prepare the production data and work with our electronics fabrication partner for prototypes and builds, or hand over to the contract manufacturer you choose.

Can we engage you for just one stage?

Yes. Many projects start with a feasibility study, a single board or a firmware rescue, and grow from there.

Who owns the design files and source code?

Ownership and handover terms are set out in the contract before work starts. Tell us what your product needs and we will propose terms to match.

Which industries do you work in?

Scientific and laboratory instruments, medical devices, industrial IoT, edge AI and connected consumer products.

Where are you based?

Singapore, near Pasir Panjang. We work with clients in Singapore and overseas, across 5 countries so far.
